I don't know what it is about this particular felt, but it feels as soft as velvet to me.  Super plush to the touch, the structure is on the softer side and pre broken in.  The edging petersham is hand dyed indigo and there is a touch peaking out behind the navy ribbon on the crown.

The Ford is our middle of the road, straight brim fedora.  Not too wide, not too tall...this is a hat that feels like it goes on any occasion.  The brim is around 2" wide, flat,  and is easy to wear in and out of a car or restaurant.  I never hesitate when putting this shape on and the rabbit fur velour felt makes it plush to the touch and very comfortable. The headsize is 23 1/2" and can be adjusted before shipping.
